Free Opening Night Pregnancy Yoga Class.
April 23rd. Fully Booked.
Service Description
Our weekly yoga classes are warm and welcoming to everyone. You don't need to have done yoga before. Classes are suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy onwards. The postures and movements we do are positions many people find themselves doing during labour. When we slow down and go inward, we move more intuitively and can listen to what our bodies and babies need. This helps our babies move into positions easier for birth. We practise these movements in a repetitive, hypnotic way, alongside positive affirmations and visualisations. Nourishing breathwork is incorporated into each posture to allow you to calm your nervous system and fully let go. We end the class with a deep relaxation. This is a chance for you and your baby to relax together. We have time to chat at the beginning of our class over a cup of tea, too. Sometimes about a topic related to pregnancy and birth, but not always. It’s a nice feeling being pregnant together. There’s a natural, mutual empathy. Crossing the threshold of motherhood brings lots of ups and downs. Coming together in this non-judgemental space is hugely empowering. We show up imperfect, not knowing the answers but growing in resilience together. Classes are suitable for everyone. You don’t need to have done yoga before. Keeping it simple helps you focus on the breath. And when you focus on the breath, you can trust your body and intuition. “The most important knowledge a woman can gather in preparation for birth is self-knowledge. Knowledge about what her body and mind need to feel safe enough to trust her instinct and intuition.” -- Dr Rachel Reed
